【魅力発信事業】国際交流イベント「CITIZENS CHAT CAFE」開催報告

第7回　12月6日（土曜）開催

12月6日（土曜）に第7回 Citizens Chat Café を開催し、46名の方にご参加いただきました。
今回のテーマは 「クリスマス」 でした。ディスカッションの前には、学生スタッフが ザンビアでの6か月間の生活 についてプレゼンテーションを行い、たくさんの興味深い写真が紹介されました。参加者の皆さんはザンビアでの暮らしや文化に強い関心を示していました。
メインセッションでは、海外での生活経験がある参加者がそれぞれの国のクリスマスの過ごし方を紹介しました。資料や小物を持参して説明する方もおり、さまざまな国のクリスマス文化について活発な会話が生まれました。
イベント終了後には、竹ワークショップ が開催され、Citizens Chat Café の参加者からも多くの方が参加し、楽しい時間を過ごしました。
次回の 第8回は今年度最後のイベントとなります。ぜひ、1月24日（土曜）のイベント にご参加いただき、今年度最後の交流を楽しんでいただければと思います。

The 7th Citizens Chat Café Event Report-December 6, 2025
The 7th Citizens Chat Café was held on December 6th and welcomed 46 participants. The theme for this session was "Christmas." Before the table discussions began, one of the student staff member, gave a short presentation about her six-month stay in Zambia. Her talk included many engaging photos, and participants showed great interest in learning about daily life and cultural experiences in Zambia. During the main session, several participants who had lived abroad shared their own Christmas traditions from different countries. Some brought materials and small items to show, which created lively conversations and helped others learn about diverse holiday customs.
After the event, a bamboo workshop was held, and a number of Citizens Chat Café participants joined and enjoyed the activity.
Our 8th event will be the final session of this semester. We encourage everyone to join the last session of the year on January 24th before the long break.

 

第6回　11月８日（土曜）開催

「CITIZENS CHAT CAFE (CCC)」第6回が開催され、39名の方が参加しました。
今回のテーマは、「あなたにとって2025年で最も印象に残った思い出は何ですか？」でした。
イベントは、スタッフがテーマに関連する写真を紹介するところから始まり、前半のディスカッション
「あなたにとって最も思い出深い瞬間は？」へとつながりました。参加者たちは印象に残った場所、食べ物、出来事などについて語り合い、各テーブルの人数が比較的少なかったため、一人ひとりが十分に話す時間を持つことができました。会場の三木記念会館には活発で和やかな会話の声が響きました。受付で集めたアンケートからも、多くの参加者がイベントを大いに楽しみ、リラックスしながら自信を持って交流できたことがうかがえました。

The 6th Citizens Chat Café Event Report-November 8, 2025
The sixth Citizens Chat Café (CCC) was held on November 8, 2025, with 39 participants in attendance. The theme for this session was "What is your greatest memory of 2025?"
The event began with staff members sharing photos related to the theme, initiating the first half of the discussion titled "What Was the Most Memorable Moment for You?" Participants exchanged stories about memorable places, foods, and events. Because each table had a small number of participants, everyone had ample time to speak, and the Miki Hall was filled with lively and engaging conversations.
Feedback collected during registration indicated that participants thoroughly enjoyed the session. Many commented that they felt more relaxed, confident, and connected through the discussions.

   

第5回　10月11日（土曜）開催

「CITIZENS CHAT CAFE (CCC)」第5回が開催され、51名の方が参加しました。
今回のテーマは「ハロウィン」でした。また、今回のイベントには新たに２つの企画を導入しました。
1つ目は、学生による短いプレゼンテーションです。イタリア出身のJLP学生が、自身の故郷とハロウィンの過ごし方について紹介しました。
2つ目は、スタッフ全員がハロウィンに関連する個人の写真を持ち寄り、それをもとに会話を広げるという試みでした。
学生のプレゼンテーションから始めたことで、その後のディスカッションがスムーズに進み、参加者同士の交流がより活発になりました。
今回も幅広い年齢層の参加者が集まり、文化や世代を超え生き生きとした会話を楽しむ姿が見られました。

The 5th Citizens Chat Café Event Report-October 11, 2025
The fourth Citizens Chat Café (CCC) was held on October 11, 2025, with 51 participants in attendance. The theme for this session was Halloween, and two new initiatives were introduced during the event.
The first was a short presentation by a student. An Italian JLP student gave a brief talk introducing his hometown and how Halloween is celebrated there. The second initiative invited all staff members to bring a personal photo related to Halloween to help spark conversation.
Starting the session with the student presentation helped the discussion flow smoothly, and participants actively engaged in lively exchanges that crossed cultural and generational boundaries. Once again, the event brought together people of various ages, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere.

   

第4回　9月20日（土曜）開催

「CITIZENS CHAT CAFE (CCC)」第4回が開催され、64名の方が参加しました。
今回のテーマは「夏の思い出」で、参加者は旅行や日課、個人的な出来事など、さまざまな夏の体験を共有しました。参加者は子どもから高齢者まで幅広く、世代を超えてにぎやかな雰囲気でした。年齢別の人数は、0～12歳：8名、13～20歳：16名、21～30歳：4名、31～40歳：5名、41～50歳：10名、51～60歳：3名、61歳以上：18名でした。
特に小さな子どもたちは、夏の思い出を画用紙に描いたり、英語のゲームに積極的に参加したりして楽しみました。イベントは、11名のさまざまな国出身の学生スタッフと教員で運営され、円滑で活発なディスカッションが行われました。
前半は参加者の夏の体験を共有する時間、後半は自由に英語で話す時間とし、参加者はさまざまなテーマについて意見交換を楽しみました。
CCCは、世代や国籍を超えた交流の場として、参加者が安心して英語を実践できる、貴重で楽しいプラットフォームとなっています。

The 4th Citizens Chat Café September 20, 2025
The 4th Citizens Chat Café (CCC) of the year was held on September 20th, 2025, with 56 participants attending. The theme was "Summer Memories", where attendees shared their summer experiences, including trips, daily routines, and personal highlights. Participants represented a broad range of ages from children under 12 to seniors over 60 creating a lively, intergenerational atmosphere. Specifically, there were 9 children aged 0-12, 19 participants aged 13-20, 4 aged 21-30, 6 aged 31-40, 9 aged 41-50, 4 aged 51-60, and 25 participants aged 61 and above.
Approximately 9 young children actively participated by drawing their summer memories and joining English-language games. The event was supported by 11 student staff members from various countries,along with professors who helped facilitate smooth and engaging discussions.
The first half of the event focused on participants' summer experiences, while the second half allowed for free discussion in English on any topic.
CCC continues to serve as a unique platform for cross-generational and international exchange, providing participants with a supportive and enjoyable environment to practice English.

   

第3回　7月5日（土曜）開催

「CITIZENS CHAT CAFE (CCC)」第3回が開催されました。
小学生から60歳以上の方まで合計46名の参加者で賑わいました。今回はこれまでに比べ、小中高生の参加者が多く、本学を志望する高校生が本学の学生や市民の方と楽しく会話をしている姿がとても印象的でした。
今回のテーマは「夏の目標や抱負について」でした。個人的な事柄や仕事面での目標や抱負、または自身の健康維持やリラクゼーションに関する目標など様々な内容で話し合うことに取り組みました。また、夏休みの予定についても話し合う時間を設け、旅行や帰省、新しく挑戦したいことなどについて会話が弾みました。ディスカッションもスムーズに進み、前回と同様に英語が飛び交う賑やかな回となりました。

 The 3rd Citizens Chat Café Event Report July 5, 2025
Out of the initial 70 reservations, 46 participants attended, likely due to the extreme heat. Among them, 16 were middle & high school students, 8 elementary school kids, 11 young or middle-aged people, 1 was university student and 10 were seniors (61 years old or over).
Of the adult participants, 29 were women and 9 were men. The event was supported by 6 staff members, a volunteer and professors Singh and Sanz, who acted as managers/facilitators. This session attracted a younger cohort compared to previous events, with many students interested in attending our university attend CCC and enjoyed talking to the current students.
The discussion topic was: "Discuss your goals and aspirations for this summer, whether they are personal, professional or related to self-care and relaxation. Or share your upcoming summer vacation plans, whether it is traveling, staying local or trying something new".
The discussion went smoothly and, as always, the atmosphere was lively, animated and positive.

第2回　6月28日（土曜）開催

 「CITIZENS CHAT CAFE (CCC)」第2回が開催されました。
小学生から60歳以上の方まで合計46名の参加者で賑わいました。今回は前回に比べ参加者が増え、小学生から60歳以上の方まで幅広い年齢層の56名の参加者で賑わいました。
今回のテーマは「子供の頃の趣味と大人の趣味：あなたの興味はどのように変化しましたか？」でした。参加者はグループに分かれ、趣味が年月を経てどのように変化したかについて議論しました。洞察力に富んだ会話が活発に繰り広げられ、年齢を重ねるにつれて興味がどのように変化したか、個人的な経験や視点を共有しました。
セッションの最後に、各グループの代表者が議論の要点を発表しました。趣味が成長段階において人生にどのような影響を与えるかについての考察はとても興味深いものでした。
また、市外から参加した高校生グループが議論に新しい視点を加えたことにより、会場の雰囲気がより活気づいた場面もありました。
第3回も大成功を収め、異文化交流や世代間交流そして異世代間のコミュニティ形成の促進に継続的に貢献できている様子を感じ取ることができる回となりました。

The 2nd Citizens Chat Café Event Report June 28, 2025
The second event of this year's Citizens Chat Café (CCC) was held on June 28th, 2025, with 56 participants joining the event. We were excited to see an increase in attendance compared to the previous event, and it was great to welcome a diverse group, ranging from children to seniors. The age distribution of participants was diverse, ranging from school children to seniors. Out of the 56 participants, 1 was an elementary school child, 14 were young or middle-aged adults, including university students, 17 participants were aged 31-50, 8 were aged 51-60, and 19 were aged 61 and above.
This event's discussion topic was "Childhood Hobbies vs. Adult Hobbies: How Have Your Interests Changed?", and the participants were divided into groups to discuss how their hobbies have evolved over the years. The conversations were lively and insightful, with participants sharing their personal experiences and perspectives on how their interests shifted as they grew older. At the end of the session, we had an opportunity for group representatives to share key points from their discussions, and it was inspiring to hear everyone's reflections on how hobbies shape our lives at different stages. We also had a group of high school students attending from outside the region, which added an exciting dimension to the discussions and created a more dynamic atmosphere in the room.
The event was supported by 9 student staff members, including Mahana (Manager), along with Professors Sanz and Singh, who acted as overall facilitators. Their involvement ensured smooth discussions and helped create a welcoming environment for all participants. The event was a great success, and we continue to see the positive impact of CCC in fostering cultural exchange, communication, and community building. 

 

第1回　6月7日（土曜）開催

 神戸外大魅力発信事業の一環として、「CITIZENS CHAT CAFE (CCC)」が開催されました。
小学生から60歳以上の方まで合計46名の参加者で賑わいました。今回の第1回目には、44名の参加者が集まりました。幼稚園児から小中学生、さらには60歳以上の方々まで幅広い年齢層の参加者で賑わい、本学の学生と英語で楽しく交流することができました。
前半のテーマは、「第二言語を学び始めたきっかけ」です。参加者はさまざまな視点から興味深いディスカッションを繰り広げました。後半は自由なテーマでディスカッションや意見交換を行い、オープンで活発な場となりました。
本学からは、12名の学生スタッフと2名の教員が参加しました。ブルガリア、ロシア、ドイツ、フィリピン、中国、ニュージーランド、スペイン、ネパール、日本など、様々な出身国の学生スタッフや教員が積極的にディスカッションをリードし、参加者同士の交流をサポートしました。
異文化交流の貴重な場となり、参加者は英語で活発に意見を交わしました。年齢層の違いから生まれる多様な視点が、議論をより豊かにしました。
今年度も初回から大いに盛り上がり、今月28日（土曜）に開催予定の第2回が楽しみです。

First Citizens Chat Café Event Report-December 6, 2025
On September 28th (Saturday), the Citizens Chat Café (CCC), an international exchange event that started last year as part of the Kobe City University of Foreign Studies' (KCUFS) outreach program, was held. This was the first event of this academic year, with 44 participants joining. The event saw a broad range of age groups, from children attending kindergarten to elementary and middle school students, as well as participants aged 60 and above. With such a diverse range of ages, participants from all walks of life gathered together, and everyone had a great time interacting in English with KCUFS students.
The topic for the first half of the event was "What brings you to start learning another language?" which led to insightful and diverse discussions. In the second half, the conversation turned into a free discussion, where participants were able to talk about various topics in English, fostering an open and dynamic environment.
Additionally, 12 student staff members and 2 faculty members from KCUFS participated in the event. The student staff and faculty came from a variety of countries, including Bulgaria, Russia, Germany, the Philippines, China, New Zealand, Spain, Nepal, and Japan. They actively led discussions and supported the exchange between participants.
This event proved to be a meaningful platform for intercultural exchange, allowing participants to engage in lively discussions on various topics in English. The diversity of perspectives across different age groups made the conversations even richer. The first event of this academic year was a success, and we look forward to the upcoming event on June 28th this month.
